Features

Key Seedream 5.0 Pro API Capabilities

  • Text to image, guided by references

Describe the picture in a prompt of up to 8,000 characters, or add up to 10 reference images and name each one as @Image1, @Image2 and so on. Leave image_urls out for pure text to image; add them to keep a product, a character or a style in the new picture.

  • 1k, 1.5k or 2k

Pick 1k, 1.5k or 2k for each task: 2k for full-size pictures, 1k or 1.5k when you need smaller ones. 1k and 1.5k cost the same.

  • Background removal built in

Set remove_bg to true, with or without reference images, and each image comes back as a PNG with a transparent background, ready for product cut-outs, stickers and design assets, with no separate cut-out step. It doesn't change the price.

  • 8 fixed aspect ratios

1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, 9:16, 3:2, 2:3 and 21:9 cover square posts, stories, slides and cinematic banners. There is no auto, so you always know the shape you'll get.

  • Up to 4 images per task

Set num_outputs from 1 to 4. The images are generated in parallel, so a set of four variations takes about as long as one, and a single 1k image takes about 40 seconds.

  • PNG originals and JPEG previews

Each image comes as a full PNG at outputs[].url and a JPEG preview of up to 1024 pixels on the long side at preview_url, on public links at cdn.nanoapi.ai that don't expire, so you can store or serve them directly.

Seedream 5.0 Pro is an AI image model that turns a prompt, optionally with reference images, into pictures at 1k, 1.5k or 2k, and can return them on a transparent background. Prompts can run up to 8,000 characters and name each reference as @Image1, @Image2 and so on, so one request can say exactly which product, character or style goes where.

On NanoAPI, Seedream 5.0 Pro is the model seedream-5.0-pro of the product seedream. Every task takes a prompt and up to 10 reference images and returns 1 to 4 images, each as a full PNG plus a JPEG preview. You choose the resolution, one of eight aspect ratios and the number of images for every task, and can turn on remove_bg for a cut-out on a transparent background.

That makes Seedream 5.0 Pro a direct fit for catalogs and design work: a request can return a product, an object or a character already separated from its background, at 2k, in the exact aspect ratio of the slot it's going into.

Use Seedream 5.0 Pro online in the studio at the top of this page, then call the Seedream 5.0 Pro API at https://api.nanoapi.ai/v1 from your own app. Both draw on the same prepaid balance at the same price per image, and you only pay for the images you get: an image that isn't generated is refunded, and so is a task that fails.

How it works

How to Use the Seedream 5.0 Pro API

  1. 1

Step 1: Get your API key

Sign in to NanoAPI with Google and create a key on the API Keys page of the console. It authenticates every Seedream 5.0 Pro API request, so keep it on your server.

  2. 2

Step 2: Top up your balance

Add funds on the Top up page of the console. The balance is prepaid in USD, never expires and is shared by every NanoAPI model, image and video alike.

  3. 3

    Step 3: Create a task

Send POST /v1/tasks with model seedream-5.0-pro, a prompt, resolution, aspect_ratio and num_outputs, plus image_urls and remove_bg if you need them. The task is queued in under a second, and the price of the requested images is reserved within a few seconds.

  4. 4

    Step 4: Get the images

Receive the finished task once at your webhook_url, or poll GET /v1/tasks/{task_id} every 15 seconds or more. A 1k image takes about 40 seconds; the PNG files are in outputs[].url and the JPEG previews in preview_url.

Why NanoAPI

Why Use the Seedream 5.0 Pro API on NanoAPI

  • One key for every model

Seedream 5.0 Pro shares the POST /v1/tasks endpoint, the task object, the API key and the prepaid balance with every image and video model on NanoAPI.

  • Pay for images, not attempts

A task reserves the price of the images you ask for and charges only for the ones it returns. An image blocked by moderation is refunded while the rest are delivered; a task with no image at all is refunded in full.

  • Webhooks or polling

Get the finished task pushed once to your webhook_url, signed to the Standard Webhooks spec (verifying is optional), or poll a single task or a batch of task ids.

  • Safe retries

Send an Idempotency-Key with each new task: a request resent after a timeout returns the task that was already created, so nothing is generated or charged twice.

  • Spend limits and a full history

Cap each API key's hourly, daily or total spending, and look up every request with its status, inputs, cost and result, your daily usage and every movement of your balance in the console.

  • Try online, then integrate

The studio on this page runs the same Seedream 5.0 Pro model at the same prices, so what you test is what your users get. The docs also come as one llms.txt file for AI coding assistants.

Use cases

What You Can Build With the Seedream 5.0 Pro API

  • A product catalog of cut-outs on a light background: a sneaker, a backpack, a watch and a vase, each labelled

    Product cut-outs and catalogs

Generate product shots with remove_bg on and place the transparent PNGs on any page, banner or marketplace listing.

  • Two social stories: “Weekend in Lisbon” with a yellow tram and “Brunch goals” with an acai bowl

    Social posts and stories

Create 1:1 posts, 9:16 stories and 3:4 feed images from a prompt, with up to four variations per task to choose from.

  • A keynote slide titled “Product Launch” with an iridescent glass sculpture

    Slides, covers and banners

Make 16:9 and 21:9 images for presentations, video thumbnails, blog covers and website headers, at up to 2k.

  • A web app headlined “One API call. Production-ready assets.” generating three teapot images with Remove background switched on

    Image generation in your app

Add Seedream 5.0 Pro text to image to a design tool, a print-on-demand shop or a content pipeline: create tasks in bulk, get the images by webhook and store the PNG links as they are.

FAQ

Seedream 5.0 Pro API FAQ

Can’t find what you need? Write to us.

01

What is the Seedream 5.0 Pro API?

The Seedream 5.0 Pro API lets your app generate images with the Seedream 5.0 Pro model over HTTP. On NanoAPI you send POST /v1/tasks with model seedream-5.0-pro, a prompt and the image settings, optionally with up to 10 reference images, and get 1 to 4 images back by webhook or by polling.

02

How much does the Seedream 5.0 Pro API cost?

You pay per image: the price of the resolution × the number of images generated. A task reserves the price of every image in num_outputs, charges only for the images it returns and refunds the rest; a failed task is refunded in full. remove_bg doesn't change the price. The live prices are in the table above, on the pricing page and in GET /v1/products.

03

How many reference images can I use, and in which formats?

Up to 10 per task, as public http(s) links in image_urls, named in the prompt as @Image1, @Image2 and so on in that order. JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF (the first frame), BMP and TIFF work. HEIC and HEIF don't, so convert iPhone photos to JPEG first; the studio on this page does it for you. A PNG with a transparent background is placed on white before it's used.

04

Which resolutions and aspect ratios does Seedream 5.0 Pro support?

resolution is 1k, 1.5k or 2k. aspect_ratio is 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, 9:16, 3:2, 2:3 or 21:9. auto isn't supported: the image doesn't follow your reference images' shape, so pass the aspect ratio you want.

05

How do I remove the background?

Set remove_bg to true. The PNG at outputs[].url has a transparent background, while the JPEG preview at preview_url is placed on white. Turning it on doesn't change the price.

06

What happens if only some of my images are generated?

The task still succeeds and outputs contains only the images that were made, so it can be shorter than num_outputs; this happens, for example, when moderation blocks one image. You're charged for the images you got and the rest goes back to your balance. Only when no image comes back does the task fail, with a full refund.

07

How long does a Seedream 5.0 Pro image take?

About 40 seconds for one image at 1k. Several images run in parallel, so a task of four takes about as long as one. In production, pass a webhook_url to be notified once when the task finishes instead of polling.

08

Can I try Seedream 5.0 Pro online before integrating?

Yes. Sign in with Google and use the studio at the top of this page: it runs the same Seedream 5.0 Pro model at the same prices as the API and draws on the same balance, so you can check results and costs before you write any code.
